Fall Colours

If I were to sum up the visual impact of fall colours in this region then I'd hazard to say that they're a touch muted and yet vibrant though not exactly an explosion of colour.  The dominant colours are orange and yellow.  I supposed "subdued but still lively" might be a good way of describing the view.

I spotted the following example yesterday and made a point of pulling over to take photos this morning.  It's a ginkgo tree that stands near the entrance to a small Buddhist shrine named "Kumanodo".  Ginkgo trees are usually fairly tall and this particular example is tall but not the tallest one I've ever seen.  I think that honour goes to tree I knew of years ago on the grounds of the Tsukiji Hongwanji in Tokyo.

Anyways...I thought I'd share some photos....
