With the advent of perfect circles, it soon became obvious that one could create flying rectangular shaped towns....

This structure in the foreground could be converted into a flying box.
Turning on the grid one can see the elegance of the perfect circle.
Then there's this ring which is flying thanks to the supporting girders forming a circle.
The above manages to stay airborne in spite of the gaps between the white blocks.
