Two of the folks who work at the Yonezawa school drive south on Route 13 to get to work. I drive north. Usually, I start my drive to work so that I arrive around 1pm. The two southbound people arrive at work just before noon. So we're typically on Route 13 at different times.
Now I've been driving to work since last July following that pattern of departure time. Yet within the past few weeks I've spotted the other two on Route 13 amongst the few times I've left for work early. Which is a bit odd to say the least. The first case was on March 11th. The next was today.
The fact of the matter is that I don't scan every vehicle in the opposing lane as I drive past them. I probably look at about a quarter of them, if not less. The first person I spotted drives a rather generic looking greyish Toyota. The second person drives a Toyota which bears some features similar to a MINI and its colour is close in tone to British Racing Green. That car is a bit more unique. But still...the odds I'd spot those people can't possibly be that high....
