Paddler with No Water (Blog II)

Ex-paddler and ex-pat Canuck currently living in Japan. This blog is a continuation of a similarly named blog I have on another blog platform.

April?....

I mentioned the cherry blossoms in Yamagata city in my previous blog entry.  Well, last night I didn't may any attention to the cherry trees when I drove by them.  You see, I had checked the weather report before I had left work and it mentioned a 50% probability of snow in Yonezawa.

I had encountered sleet when leaving home that morning and come across snow flakes fluttering down in Kaminoyama when I stopped off there to get lunch.  My fellow teacher had mentioned that it was snowing in Yamagata city that morning.  The low temperatures that night when I moved my car to the school were definitly a cause for concern.  It was about 5ºC in Tendo at that time if my memory serves me right.

So sure enough, when I was driving through Nanyo that night I started seeing snowflakes.  By the time I got to Takahata they were somewhat plentiful.  In Yonezawa, it was like a scene from mid-December.  Luckily I made it home safely without any problems.

The reason from my concern and trepidation?....  I had changed over to summer tires on my car two weeks ago....
