Our school has a practice of giving birthday cards to students.  A staff member prints them up and distributes them to the teachers with the student's name and birthday written on a stickie note attached to it.  I gave one to a student today and explained that I had written "Happy Belated Birthday" inside since I had been told that her birthday was last Friday.  She was bit puzzled by that and advised me that her birthday is tomorrow, October 13th!  Oops!

Anyways, that student, Ms. K., mentioned that she had been held up on the way home after her lesson last Wednesday because of a traffic accident.  One vehicle involved in the accident was driven by a drunk driver.  The other was driven by a female school teacher.  The other student in the class remarked that the school teacher was a someone she knew through her fitness class.  Ms. K. said that the school teacher was a co-worker of her sister(!).  Small world....  The school teacher was injured in the accident...she suffered a fractured sternum.
